Wymering Manor Ghost Hunt

Join me at Wymering Manor in Portsmouth on Saturday 29th July 2023 for a professional Ghost Hunt. Spend the evening with me and members of my Ghostfinder Paranormal Society investigating this haunted location. 

Wymering Manor is said to be the oldest and most haunted building in Portsmouth. Join me to explore all areas of this historic building by torchlight.  Investigate many areas such as the creepy hallways, staircases, bedrooms, drawing rooms and even under the house in the very active cellar.

Frequent paranormal experiences had at Wymering Manor include hearing loud crashes, bangs, footsteps and voices. Visitors have reported seeing dark shadows and partial apparitions. There are reports of ghostly children, bleeding nuns, and even phantom horses seen at this location. Are you brave enough to join me for a night of ghost hunting at Wymering Manor?

This paranormal event will begin at 9:00pm and end at 2:00am. There will be 3 small teams investigating throughout the night and lead investigators from The Ghostfinder Paranormal Society will be carrying out experiments and different activities in different locations using the latest paranormal investigation equipment. 

A maximum of 30 guests will be allowed to attend this event so please book early to avoid disappointment. Barri will work with everyone throughout the evening.

There is small FREE car park located on site but plenty of on-street parking available. 

Disability Access

The location is not disability friendly due to its age and structure. There are steep steps and uneven floors.

About Wymering Manor

Wymering Manor is a very large grade two listed building located close to the City centre of Portsmouth, Hampshire, UK. It was granted it’s Grade two status in 2003.

Much of what you will see is unchanged from its 16th Century heyday. Within its large hall your eyes are brought instantly to twin Jacobean staircases decorated with barley sugar twist bolsters in dark varnished wood, panelled walls, and supporting pilasters giving a strong essence of Elizabethan and Tudor design.

A Roman settlement is located nearby and the house itself sits on the location of a much earlier building dating back all the way to 1042. 

Although most of the building that stands today is 16th Century, parts of Wymering Manor still contain parts of Medieval, and even Roman sections which are evident within its structure. Beneath the house the cellars have very solid walls. It is documented that these cellars themselves are actually Saxon in origin. Archology of the footings do imply that a Roman building may have once stood on this site, which gives the land now home to Wymering Manor a rich human history, so any hauntings from the land have now been brought into this house.

The house boasts to have two priest holes. one of which is said to include a now long hidden passage which leads to the local church nearby.
